Hello and welcome to No Ordinary Hallelujah, my name is Halle! I am thrilled to welcome you to this community where we seek the truth through theology and literature and explore all the ways to make our mundane lives a cacophony of praise to God. A bit about me is that I am based in the Midwest but travel frequently for work, speaking engagements, and for my studies at Johns Hopkins University. Professionally, I help nonprofits achieve their goals not only with outreach and coordination efforts, but through creating a narrative and telling a story about why nonprofits matter. My academic history is in studying literature, particularly the works of Rumer Godden, Cormac McCarthy, and William Shakespeare. I earned a bachelor’s of arts in theology and English literature as well as a minor in Spanish. I am a current student at Johns Hopkins University earning my Master of Arts in writing en route to my doctorate in English.
I was married to the love of my life in September in Green Bay, Wisconsin and we began dating on the anniversary of the only Marian apparition in the United States. We met at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island. While the east coast was beautiful, I quickly realized that nowhere compared to the heart and soul of the Midwest. People are kinder, more authentic, and seek greater unity with God. We relocated to Wisconsin where we have formed an amazing community of friends and family. We enjoy travelling (we just had a private audience with Pope Leo XIV), we love to try new restaurants and destinations, I love to read, write, paint (with watercolors), and discover all the unique ways that God has created me to give Him praise.
My name literally means Hallelujah - to give highest praise to God and I know that He has designed my life to echo highest praises to him. This blog was created from the pursuit of giving that hallelujah to God.
